Invar® Foil (Light Tight) comes in 105 variations that differ in dimensions, thickness and surface finish. Consisting primarily of iron and nickel, it has an extremely low coefficient of thermal expansion. This makes it ideal for applications that require high dimensional stability under temperature changes, like precision instruments and optical mirrors. Being light tight, this foil blocks visible light transmission, so it can be used when light leakage needs to be prevented in optical devices or light-sensitive electronics.
