Product Summary of Shapal™ Hi-M soft
Shapal™-M soft machineable ceramic becomes Shapal™ Hi-M soft
At the beginning of 2012 a new improved version of Shapal™-M soft machineable ceramic was launched. To mark the change, the new version is called Shapal™ Hi-M soft.
Traditional ceramics are distinguished by their unique characteristics. Unfortunately, two of these, brittleness and hardness, make them difficult to machine, limiting their applications.
Shapal™-M soft was developed specifically to address these issues, offering machinability, high mechanical strength and high (for a ceramic) thermal conductivity.
Shapal™-M soft has remained unchanged for many years, but an improved grade with subtle modifications to the material properties has now replaced the original version. Most users will not notice changes to the physical material properties and, in fact, will benefit from an increased material bending strength.
At Goodfellow we feel it is important to advise you of these changes as soon as possible, and to offer our help in managing any changes to your processes.
