Simplifying complex prototyping since 1982

A leader in digital and microfabrication, Potomac Photonics' state-of-the-art micromanufacturing capabilities are renowned for their precision, versatility, and ability to handle a wide range of materials, including polymers, metals, ceramics, and glass.

Based in Baltimore, Maryland US, Potomac can leverage a broad range of technologies with the abillity to work with sizes on the micron-scale that cannot be seen with the naked eye.

Together, we are truly able to partner with our clients to provide the ability to scale from single prototypes to millions of parts for production.

The Potomac Philosophy

To be on the forefront of micro manufacturing by developing innovative technologies capable of taking on the most complex prototyping and production projects.

Whether you require a single prototype or millions of parts for production, Potomac's expertise and advanced technologies enable the creation of intricate features and designs that surpass the limits of conventional manufacturing processes.

Potomac applications

Recognized by both commercial and government agencies for innovative contributions to sectors including medical device manufacturing, biotech, and electronics fabrication, Potomac's high-tech facility is located in Baltimore, Maryland, US, and offers a range of applications for your project.

Microfluidic fabrication

Multi-layer microfluidic devices are easily prototyped at low cost utilizing Potomac’s digital fabrication toolbox that combines both new and exiting manufacturing technologies.

Leak test hole drilling

Potomac is able to laser drill micro-holes into glass and polymer vials/ampules for the purpose of leak test hole system validation.

Small hole drilling

Our experts offer quick and cost-effective small hole drilling services in many materials. Microholes as small as 1 micron can be drilled in almost any substrate.

Probe cards

Micro-Hole drilling for probe card applications is achievable in a variety of materials such as Silicon Nitride, Polyimide, Ultem and others.

Catheter hole drilling

Potomac Photonics has developed precision holes drilling technology for catheter applications. With an emphasis on cleanliness and positional accuracy, our technology is suited for prototyping and production applications.

Invisible backlighting

Micro hole drilling with accuracy, high resolution and precision for invisible hole backlighting display manufacturing.
