Shapal™ Hi-M soft Machinable Aluminum Nitride Disk

Shapal™ Hi-M soft Machinable Aluminum Nitride Disk is a hybrid AlN/BN ceramic supplied as a precisely machined circular part for heat-spreading and electrical isolation where metals would short or outgas. It combines unusually high thermal conductivity with strong dielectric performance and excellent machinability, so disks can include tight bores, countersinks, and sealing lands without post-firing. The material seals well in vacuum, resists wetting by many molten metals, and exhibits low thermal expansion close to silicon, helping mixed-material stacks stay aligned through thermal cycling. Semiconductor tools, power electronics, and precision instruments adopt Shapal disks for substrates, heat-sinking spacers near sensors, and protective masks or windows in clean, hot environments. Typical uses include vacuum deposition carriers, electrically isolated heat spreaders, and protective tubes or covers re-imagined as disk features. For research and production, Shapal Hi-M disks shorten the path from concept to reliable ceramic components that manage heat, preserve insulation, and install with standard hardware.
