Nimonic® 90 Foil (Light Tight)

Nimonic® 90 Foil (Light Tight) is a pinhole free, high-temperature nickel-chromium-cobalt foil for optical and sensor builds that must block stray light and survive heat, purge gases, and repeated bake-outs. The clean, defect-free finish seals against frames and fasteners without shimmer or bleed-through, enabling masks, diaphragms, wraps, and compact baffles that hold alignment through thermal cycling and maintenance. Aerospace optics, vacuum instruments, and high-energy test rigs use it to protect detectors and lenses from flare while resisting oxidation and handling damage that defeat coatings or painted baffles. The foil forms, corrugates, and spot-welds easily, so designers can combine stiffness and compliance in tight envelopes without adding mass.
