Tantalum/Tungsten Alloy Foil (Light Tight) (Ta97.5/W 2.5) is a foil product within Goodfellow's range of tantalum and tungsten metal alloy foils. This alloy combines the corrosion resistance and high temperature strength of tantalum with the high density and stiffness of tungsten. Applications of this light-tight foil include x-ray collimators to shape or limit x-ray beams, as well as high temperature furnace components thanks to its refractory properties. With excellent ductility, this foil can be readily formed into complex shapes while blocking visible light.
