Lutetium foil, available in the Goodfellow range of foils, is a shiny sheet of the rare earth metal lutetium. With a silvery-white appearance, lutetium foil is soft and malleable. It has excellent corrosion resistance and high reflectivity across a broad spectrum. Applications of lutetium foil include use as a radiation shielding material due to its high density and high atomic number. It also finds use as a reflector in optical systems and thin film devices where its reflective properties are leveraged. With low chemical reactivity, lutetium foil provides a stable surface for applications requiring inertness.
