Goodfellow offers spooled Pt90/Ir10 alloy wire, a platinum-iridium alloy wire with excellent mechanical strength and hardness. This high temperature resistant wire maintains strength and oxidation resistance up to 2000°C. With a density of 21.45 g/cm3, the Pt90/Ir10 alloy demonstrates superior corrosion resistance compared to pure platinum. Applications of the spooled wire include high temperature thermocouples, spark plug electrodes, and crucibles for laboratory use. The Pt90/Ir10 alloy wire is part of Goodfellow's extensive range of high performance platinum-group metal alloy products.
