Grade: Low Density Polyethylene (LDPE) Composition: LDPE Form: Granule Material: Polyethylene (PE) CAS Number: 9002-88-4 Commodity: Polymers
Extrusion and Injection Moulding Grade LDPE Granules are low-density polyethylene materials designed for thermoplastic processing with excellent flexibility, impact resistance, and chemical inertness. These granules exhibit low crystallinity, a softening point around 105°C, and high elongation at break, making them ideal for forming complex geometries and film-based structures. LDPE is extensively used in packaging films, cable insulation, laboratory tubing, and injection-moulded consumer goods. In injection moulding, LDPE’s low viscosity and thermal stability support the efficient production of soft components such as squeeze bottles and lids. Additionally, it finds use as a binder in powder injection moulding for ceramics, where its branched molecular structure improves flow properties and reduces thermal debinding time by up to 40%. Recent advancements have also enabled sustainable reprocessing of LDPE through ultrahigh-speed extrusion, lowering embodied energy and CO₂ emissions in moulded parts. This grade of LDPE granules remains central to both conventional plastics manufacturing and evolving circular economy models in polymer engineering.
