AISI 347 Stainless Steel Disk is a niobium-stabilized austenitic stainless steel disk valued for its excellent high-temperature corrosion resistance, good mechanical strength, and stability against intergranular carbide precipitation. The niobium content enhances creep resistance and performance in cyclic thermal environments, making it ideal for demanding service conditions. In disk form, it is widely used in aerospace turbine components, chemical processing systems, and nuclear power plant equipment. Specific applications include high-temperature flange seals, rotating machinery components, and structural interfaces in corrosive high-heat environments. In research, AISI 347 is extensively investigated for wear resistance improvements via nitriding, surface hardening with electron beam melting, and its oxidation/hot corrosion performance under severe service. Its combination of metallurgical stability, oxidation resistance, and mechanical reliability makes it a critical material for advanced scientific and industrial high-performance systems.
