With 16–18% chromium, 10–14% nickel, and 2–3% molybdenum, it is the preferred grade wherever the component requires welding or exposure to the sensitization temperature range of 425–850 °C. The coil format supports continuous production of welded enclosures, cladding, formed parts, and precision strip components in marine engineering, chemical processing, food production, and biomedical device manufacture.
