AISI 304 Stainless Steel Foil (Light Tight)

AISI 304 Stainless Steel Foil (Light Tight) is a precision austenitic stainless steel foil manufactured to provide complete opacity to visible and near-visible radiation, combining the corrosion resistance and mechanical reliability of the 18Cr–10Ni alloy system with stringent light-exclusion performance. With a tensile strength of 500–700 MPa and elongation of approximately 40%, it retains the formability and weldability characteristic of AISI 304 while meeting the additional requirement of zero light transmission — making it suitable for applications where photosensitive media, optical instruments, or detector assemblies must be reliably shielded from ambient light. Its non-magnetic annealed condition, chemical stability, and resistance to corrosion in clean and low-chloride environments further support its use in sensitive analytical and optical instrumentation.
