Al 1050 Aluminum Coil is a commercially pure 1xxx series aluminum coil with a minimum aluminum content of 99.5%, available in a continuous-feed reel format suited to roll-to-roll and high-volume processing operations. With low total alloying element content, 1050 maintains high electrical conductivity (~57–59% IACS) and thermal conductivity (~218 W/m·K) relative to higher-alloyed grades — properties governed by the minimal solid-solution electron scattering characteristic of the 1xxx series. The naturally passivating oxide layer provides reliable corrosion resistance without surface treatment, and the alloy's softness and high ductility support continuous forming, slitting, and winding operations with low tooling wear. In the annealed condition, 1050 coil is used in continuous lamination, cable shielding wraps, HVAC duct facing, and transformer winding stock where consistent strip geometry and predictable conductivity across long coil lengths are required. Cold-rolled tempers provide increased tensile strength (up to ~130 MPa) for applications requiring greater mechanical stiffness without alloy additions that would degrade conductivity. The combination of conductivity, formability, and surface quality also supports use in capacitor electrode slitting and roll-to-roll anodization for architectural and functional oxide coatings.
