Q) Firstly, bring me up to speed with your latest news regarding any new product introductions?

Goodfellow Cambridge has recently introduced several new products, including: A composite material consisting of graphene, which boasts remarkable mechanical properties, along with outstanding biocompatibility. Our exclusive range of products, Hastalex and BioHastalex, are only available to our 6,000-strong customer base.

Goodfellow Cambridge is also offering a range of ultrafine metal wires with a diameter of less than 1µm. These wires are coated with borosilicate glass, and the type of coating depends on the wire metal and its diameter. This product is especially in demand from clients striving for miniaturisation and the growing demand for smaller and more complex devices.

A first for our materials-based business, our chemicals debut centres around Rare Earth Oxides (REOs), a collection of chemical compounds produced by reacting rare earth metals with oxygen. REOs are an exciting addition to our specialist product range of over 150,000 in stock materials.

Goodfellow is continuously expanding its advanced materials offering to aid scientific developments across the globe. The company’s latest launch welcomes microfoils with permanent 0.5µm Mylar® substrate to their pre-existing foil and film range. As a result of this addition, Goodfellow now boasts the most extensive offering of ultrathin foils on the market.

We’re satisfying demand for novel compositions by introducing custom alloying to our repertoire of technical solutions. We’re now able to offer custom alloys – including High-Entropy Alloys – to meet your specific application requirements.

One of the UK’s leading manufacturers of specialist metals and materials has signed a new commercial agreement with Advanced Energy Minerals (AEM) to support its growing order book in the academic and research sectors.
