What are Single Crystals?
Rarely occurring in nature, Single Crystals (also known as monocrystals) have mechanical properties that lend themselves where high strength and low thermal creep is a key requirement in the manufacturing process.
In addition, the absence of defects along the grain boundaries in such crystals enables them to demonstrate unique mechanical, electrical and optical properties, giving them an advantage over the use of polycrystalline materials.
