Molybdenum Foil

Molybdenum Foil is a high-purity, corrosion-resistant material, ideal for high-temperature applications in controlled atmospheres (inert or vacuum). In laboratories, it is commonly used as a support in catalysis, particularly for hydrogenation reactions with platinum or nickel catalysts, and in its sulfide form (MoS₂). Mo foil is also employed in chemical vapor deposition (CVD) processes, though it can undergo carburization in hydrocarbon-rich environments above 800°C. While Mo foil is used in electron microscopy as a TEM grid, it can react with electron beams at high doses, affecting its stability. Due to its strength, thermal conductivity, and resistance to heat, Mo foil is widely used in aerospace components, thin-film deposition, and high-temperature research, where precise material performance is required.
