Oxygen-free high thermal conductivity (OFHC) copper is a premium grade of copper that has a high level of conductivity and is virtually free from any oxygen content. It is produced by electrolytically refining copper cathodes and castings under controlled conditions to prevent contamination. OFHC copper has excellent properties such as high ductility, high electrical and thermal conductivity, high impact strength, good creep resistance, ease of welding, and low volatility under an ultra-high vacuum. This outstanding advanced material is widely used in cryogenics, plasma deposition, semiconductor manufacturing, superconductor components and other applications where there is little risk of undesirable chemical reactions or oxidation.
