Manganin® Foil (Light Tight) is a copper-manganese-nickel alloy available in 74 variations. It’s known for its low resistivity and near zero temperature coefficient of resistance. This makes it ideal for precision resistance applications such as strain gauges, thermocouples, and shunts. The light tight version blocks visible light transmission for applications where exposure could affect measurements. Example uses include scientific instrumentation, automotive sensors, and aviation electronics.
