Bismuth/Tin Alloy Ingot (Bi58/Sn42)

Formula: Bi 58/Sn 42
Form: Pellet/Lump
Material: Bismuth/Tin Alloy
Commodity: Alloys
Maximum Lump Size: 100mm
Bismuth/Tin Alloy Ingot (Bi58/Sn42) are a low melting point alloy offered by Goodfellow in pellet form. With a melting point of only 138°C, the bismuth-tin alloy has a low viscosity when molten. This allows the material to be used as a replacement for more toxic lead-based solders. The alloy also has a high density of 8.7 g/cm3, making it useful for applications that require weight. As part of their extensive range of metals in pellet form, Goodfellow provides the bismuth-tin alloy to enable research and prototyping with this unique material.
