Your role:

  • Checking, receiving and signing for in-bound deliveries from couriers
  • Inspecting the in-bound goods against purchase orders and flagging any discrepancies using the company’s operating system
  • Checking quantity, weight, sizes and tolerances against Information stated within a purchase order or a technical drawing
  • Entering data and completing sample inspection documents
  • Liaising with team leader or purchaser regarding any identified defects or concerns relating to quality
  • Other ad-hoc duties in other departments when there is demand for this (may involve marshalling stock items for packing or assisting with the packing of large bulk products and arranging for despatching
  • Inspecting / Returning material to stock that has been returned from customers for assessment and Investigation

Your experience:

  • General knowledge of engineering component drawings and the use of hand measuring equipment such as profile callipers, micrometres and dial indicators
  • Knowledge of any other inspection equipment, such as profile projectors, ultrasonic flaw detectors and XRF instruments would be an advantage but not essential (training can be provided)
  • Supportive technical craft qualification (NVQ Level 3+, HNS, City & Guilds) in quality / engineering / craft / manufacturing / production would be desirable
  • Previous use of an ERP system or goods in computer system
  • Good maths, literacy and communication skills are essential as well as good attention to detail
  • FLT licence would be desirable
  • Good office-based PC skills

Package:

Salary: £26,780 per annum.

Plus: company healthcare, company pension (5% company contribution), company sick pay, critical illness cover and life assurance cover, 22 days annual leave, rising to 25. Plus, a range of employee benefits provided through our insurance’s provider, details will be provided.
