Reference Materials

Goodfellow offers a comprehensive range of Certified Reference Materials (CRMs), Reference Materials (RMs), and Setting-up Samples (SUS). Goodfellow is a producer of reference materials under the brands Bureau of Analysed Samples (BAS)* and Suisse Technology Partners (STP). These materials support chemical and spectroscopic analysis across a wide range of laboratory and industrial applications. The following portfolio includes finely divided materials (chips and powders) for chemical analysis, such as BCS-CRMs and EURONORM-CRMs, covering a broad range of ferrous and non-ferrous alloys, as well as ores, slags, and ceramic materials. The range also includes solid CRMs (disks and blocks) for spectroscopic techniques such as OES and XRF, alongside Reference Materials (RMs) for method development, validation, and routine quality control where full traceability is not required. In addition, Setting-up Samples (SUS) of steel and cast iron are available for instrument set-up, method optimization, and performance checking, providing practical materials for day-to-day laboratory use. All our reference materials are manufactured and supplied under certified quality and competency systems in accordance with ISO 9001 and ISO 17034, ensuring consistent quality, technical competence, and confidence in use.

*BAS has been certified to ISO 9001 since 1994 and accredited by UKAS since 2006, transitioning from ISO Guide 34 to ISO 17034:2016 in 2018. Certificates shown reflect the standard in force at the time of issue: materials certified prior to ISO 17034:2016 reference ISO Guide 34:2009 or ISO Guide 34:2000, while certificates issued before 2006 reference BS EN ISO 9001 or its predecessor ISO 9002.
