With a high melting point and excellent corrosion resistance, this wire combines the durability of platinum with the hardness of iridium. It can withstand high temperatures, making it ideal for use in electrical components, thermocouples, and high-temperature furnace windings. The addition of iridium also improves the mechanical strength and creep resistance compared to pure platinum wire.
