Grade 11 Titanium Rod

Grade 11 Titanium Rod (UNS R52250) is a palladium-enhanced, commercially pure titanium rod combining outstanding corrosion resistance with the highest ductility in its alloy family. With a tensile strength of 240 MPa, yield strength of 138 MPa, and elongation of 24%, it is specifically optimised for applications where formability and resistance to crevice corrosion and reducing acids take precedence over maximum mechanical strength. The palladium addition (0.12–0.25 wt%) reinforces the titanium oxide passive layer, providing reliable performance in aggressive chemical processing environments, acidic media, seawater, and industrial fluid systems. Supplied to ASTM B348, it is readily machined, welded via GTAW/TIG, and cold-formed using conventional methods. In research, Grade 11 rod is employed in electrochemical corrosion studies, test specimen fabrication for reducing acid environments, and investigations into palladium-group noble metal alloying strategies—offering a traceable, specification-controlled material where both corrosion behaviour and mechanical ductility are experimental variables.
