Goodfellow's thoriated tungsten alloy spooled wire (W 99.4/Th 0.6) is a metal wire product with excellent tensile strength and high-temperature stability. The small addition of thorium improves the material's workability. This alloy wire maintains its strength and ductility at temperatures above 2,000°C, making it suitable for filaments in light bulbs and heaters. The wire can also be used in electrical contacts and welding electrodes due to its high melting point, electrical conductivity, and resistance to arcing and erosion. As part of Goodfellow's broad selection of wire products, this thoriated tungsten alloy offers unique properties for high-temperature applications.
