Goodfellow's tungsten/rhenium alloy spooled wire (W 97/Re 3) is a high-performance material composed of 97% tungsten and 3% rhenium. This wire product combines tungsten's extremely high melting point, hardness, and density with rhenium's improved ductility. Applications of the W 97/Re 3 wire include filaments for lamps and cathode heaters as well as thermocouples and heating elements capable of withstanding very high temperatures. The unique properties of this tungsten/rhenium alloy make it suitable for a range of demanding applications within Goodfellow's diverse wire product range.
