Goodfellow's range of Foil products includes Antimonial Lead Alloy Foil (Light Tight) (Pb96/Sb 4). This foil product exhibits properties such as opacity to visible light and gamma radiation as well as flexibility and formability. It finds use in applications requiring light-tight shielding against electromagnetic radiation, such as in X-ray diagnostics, nuclear physics experiments, and radiation therapy. The addition of a small percentage of antimony to lead allows this foil to achieve enhanced mechanical strength and ductility compared to pure lead foil.
