Goodfellow Shines Bright with Festive Cheer During Christmas Jumper Week
At Goodfellow, the holiday season is about more than festive celebrations; it’s a time to come together to make a difference. Last year’s Christmas Jumper Week (9 – 13 December 2024) was no exception, with employees eagerly donning their silliest, most colorful, and downright outrageous festive outfits to support two incredible causes.
A Tradition of Giving Back
For several years, Goodfellow has been running Christmas Jumper Week, combining festive fun with meaningful fundraising. The event invites employees to wear their quirky holiday jumpers in exchange for donations to charity. But the fun didn’t stop there! A raffle full of surprises and a delightful bake sale featuring homemade treats added to the excitement, with all proceeds going to Save the Children and Hunts Community Cancer Network (HCCN).
Competition Highlights
The highlight of the week was undoubtedly the Christmas Jumper Competition. Kelly-Marie Sargent stole the show with her dazzling and imaginative design, securing the top prize. Steven King, with his equally impressive ensemble, was crowned the runner-up in a closely contested battle of festive fashion. Their festive fashion choices were truly spectacular and showcased the creativity and enthusiasm of the Goodfellow team.
Supporting Worthy Causes
Thanks to the incredible generosity and enthusiastic participation of our employees, a remarkable £277 was raised, a sum that Goodfellow is generously rounding up to an impressive £500! These funds will be donated to two vital organizations:
• Save the Children believes that every child deserves a future. In the UK and around the world, they give children a healthy start in life, the opportunity to learn and protection from harm. They do whatever it takes for children – every day and in times of crisis – transforming their lives and the future we share.
• Hunts Community Cancer Network (HCCN) exists to transform the quality of life of those living with a cancer diagnosis, in the Huntingdonshire area by providing no cost, regular, evidence – based activities that promote healthy eating, physical exercise and mental well-being.
Earlier this week, representatives from HCCN visited Goodfellow to collect the donations. Their heartfelt gratitude and shared stories of impact served as a powerful reminder of how collective efforts can make a real difference.
A Special Thanks to the Goodfellow Team of "Elves"
Behind every successful charity event, there are dedicated individuals whose hard work makes the magic happen. A heartfelt thank you to our Christmas Jumper Week "Elves" (Heike Revelle, Claire Mills and Trisha Macphee) for their unwavering commitment and tireless efforts. They truly went above and beyond—from sending weekly reminders and securing fabulous raffle prizes to spreading holiday cheer while selling tickets, capturing the festive spirit with photos, and seamlessly coordinating the donation handover to HCCN. Their behind-the-scenes dedication ensured the event ran smoothly and joyfully, and we’re incredibly grateful for their enthusiasm and commitment.
A Holly Jolly Wrap-Up
Goodfellow's annual Christmas Jumper Week has once again brought joy, creativity, and charitable spirit to the workplace. By embracing the holiday cheer and supporting these important causes, Goodfellow employees have once again demonstrated the power of community, creativity, and compassion.
Thank you to everyone who participated and helped make this year’s Christmas Jumper Week such a memorable and meaningful event!
