Iron/nickel alloy spooled wire (Fe50/Ni50) is an alloy wire produced by Goodfellow within their range of specialty wires. With a composition of 50% iron and 50% nickel, this wire combines the strength of iron with the corrosion resistance of nickel. The wire has high tensile strength and good ductility. Applications of Fe50/Ni50 wire include use in electrical components like resistors due to its relatively high resistivity and low temperature coefficient of resistance. The alloy wire is also used for springs and other parts that require elastic properties.
