Copper/Beryllium Alloy Wire (Cu98/Be 2)
Goodfellow’s copper/beryllium alloy wire (Cu98/Be2) combines the high electrical and thermal conductivity of copper with the strength and stiffness of beryllium. The addition of just 2% beryllium to copper increases the alloy's yield strength and elastic modulus significantly compared to pure copper. This copper-beryllium wire maintains its properties at both cryogenic and elevated temperatures. Common applications include springs, electrical contacts, and precision instrument parts requiring high strength, resilience, and conductivity.
