Product Summary of Monel®

A nickel (up to 67%) based alloy also containing copper, iron and some other trace elements, first patented in 1906. This interesting high strength alloy has superb corrosion resistance, is resistant to acids, and some formulations can withstand a fire in pure oxygen. However, unfortunately when compared to steel it is very difficult to machine as it work-hardens very quickly.
