Composition: Pt Form: Crucible Material: Platinum CAS Number: 7440-06-4 Commodity: Precious Metals
Platinum Flat Bottomed Crucible (99.99% purity) provides a stable, planar base geometry suited to applications where sample volume is large, furnace support is flat, or consistent contact between crucible and heating surface is required. Available from OD 35 mm to OD 143 mm, it is the largest-format crucible in the range and accommodates the sample volumes involved in industrial quality control workflows, glass manufacturing trials, geological sample processing, and large-batch synthesis. Its flat base allows the crucible to sit directly on furnace plates and support structures without supplementary cradles, simplifying integration into high-throughput analytical sequences. As with all Goodfellow platinum crucibles, it is manufactured from 99.99% pure platinum and supplied with full material certification. Typical applications include Loss on Ignition analysis of cement, ceramics, and mineral production batches, XRF fusion sample preparation for large geological samples, and molten glass containment in optical fibre preform and specialist glass development work where vessel inertness across extended production campaigns is essential.
