Platinum Classic Micro Crucible (99.99% purity) is a small-format laboratory crucible for high-temperature analytical work on sub-milligram to low-gram sample quantities. Available from OD 12 mm to OD 26 mm, it is suited to pharmaceutical gravimetric methods where sample size is tightly defined by method specifications, small-scale synthesis and calcination of precious or rare research materials, and analytical chemistry work where minimal sample quantity demands a precisely dimensioned, chemically inert small vessel. Its 99.99% pure platinum construction ensures no contribution to measured weight change or sample contamination across the repeated ignition and heating cycles typical of gravimetric method validation. Pharmacopoeial methods including European Pharmacopoeia and USP specify platinum vessels for residue on ignition and ash determination, and the micro crucible format directly addresses the small sample sizes prescribed in many of these methods. Goodfellow supplies these crucibles with full material certification and traceability documentation suitable for regulated pharmaceutical quality control and research environments.
