They’re made from a nickel-copper alloy known for its low electrical resistivity, high thermal conductivity and excellent resistance to corrosion. Applications of Constantan® include precision resistance wire, thermocouple cables and strain gauges. It’s also ideal for flexible circuit boards that operate in harsh environments and require a high density of circuitry in a limited space. This type of circuit board is often used in oil drilling, semiconductor processing, medical diagnostic technology, and the construction of airplanes and defense systems.
