8079 Aluminum Coil is an iron-modified aluminum alloy in continuous coil format, available in Soft Annealed and Hard tempers, providing roll-to-roll feedstock for the full range of thin aluminum foil converting applications from household packaging through to cold-form pharmaceutical blister packaging. The Soft Annealed condition suits applications requiring maximum formability and low springback, including household foil slitting, flexible packaging laminating, and coated lidding foil production; the Hard temper serves cold-form pharmaceutical converting, where 8079 in the hard condition is formed into blister pockets at room temperature and must hold its molded geometry. In industry, 8079 coil is used for household aluminum foil production, flexible barrier packaging laminate converting, cold-form Alu-Alu blister pack manufacturing, and composite packaging structures requiring excellent barrier properties at very fine gauges. In research, it supports roll-to-roll process studies, systematic investigations of iron-modified aluminum foil rollability to fine gauges, and characterization of how temper affects barrier performance and cold-forming behavior in pharmaceutical packaging alloys.
