3103 Aluminum Foil/Sheet

3103 Aluminum Foil is a manganese-modified aluminum alloy in thin flat sheet form, containing 0.9-1.5% manganese, available in the As Rolled temper and combining excellent atmospheric corrosion resistance with good formability and meaningfully better mechanical properties than commercially pure 1xxx series alloys. The manganese addition provides solid solution strengthening and fine dispersoid formation, raising strength and elevated temperature performance relative to 1xxx grades without compromising the ductility and weldability that characterize this alloy family. In the As Rolled condition, the material exhibits moderate strength suitable for direct use in formed components and assemblies without further heat treatment. In industry, 3103 foil is used for aerospace heat exchanger panel stock, kitchen appliance cladding, architectural sheet, automotive cooling component strip, and heating and cooling system panels where reliable atmospheric corrosion resistance, good formability, and excellent weldability in a moderate-strength alloy are the selection criteria. In research, it serves as a model material for corrosion characterization of manganese-modified aluminum alloys, weldability and joint property studies, formability evaluation at elevated temperatures relevant to automotive and aerospace forming, and as a reference alloy for investigations of how manganese content influences recrystallization behavior and grain structure in aluminum sheet.
