Industry falls in love as Goodfellow's Head of Technical, Dr Aphrodite Tomou, is named an Exemplar in The Manufacturer's Top 100 on Wednesday, 7 June 2023.
As one of 20 people singled out for the prestigious title, Dr Aphrodite was praised by the judges for her contributions to materials science, including the recent Nuclear Fusion Breakthrough and Covid-19 vaccine development. During her time at Goodfellow, she has introduced several innovative products to support the company's growth and open up new opportunities for their clients.
Dr Tomou was elated by the win, which recognised not only her efforts in the industry, but also those of her technical team:
"My technical team has been pivotal in pushing the boundaries of materials science, developing solutions for customers and supporting innovative breakthroughs across the globe. I couldn't have achieved this award without them and the whole Goodfellow team, it belongs to them too."
She was also pleased to see how many female manufacturing professionals were selected and hopes this inspires the next generation of women to pursue a career in STEM.
