    • Palladium - Folie

      1803 in London von W.H. Woollaston entdeckt. Palladium ist ein zu den Platinmetallen gehörendes chemisches Element. Es ist silberweiß, verform- und schmiedbar und zudem eines der reaktivsten Elemente der Gruppe. Es kommt in der Erdkruste mit einer Häufigkeit von 6x10⁻⁶ vor. Palladium verfügt über gute Korrosionsbeständigkeit, ist aber in Säuren und flüssigen Alkalien löslich. Palladium vermag Wasserstoff bis zum 900-fachen seines eigenen Volumens aufzunehmen, es wird jedoch hauptsächlich als Katalysator für Reaktionen der Wasserstoffanlagerung eingesetzt. Palladium wird zudem in der Elektronikindustrie und bei der Herstellung von Zahnersatz verwendet.Folie - Dünne Platte aus Reinmetall bzw. Metallegierungen. Aufgrund ihres spröden Zustands werden manche Folien durch eine einseitige Acryl- bzw. Polyesterbeschichtung verstärkt (siehe Sektion Verstärkungen!).
