Product Summary of Brass
Another copper alloy, this time based on using zinc as the alloying element. As it is one of the softer copper alloys it tends to be used in more decorative applications, which is further enhanced by its gold like appearance and colour. However, due to its low friction characteristics it is widely used in such applications as locks, gears, bearings, doorknobs, ammunition and valves.
Characteristics of Brass include:
- Low friction
- Gold like colour
- Non-spark
- Easy to cast
