General Description : (See also General Information under Nylon 6,6) A semi-crystalline, white engineering thermoplastic very similar to nylon 11 whose properties are generally slightly superior. Of all the generic unmodified nylons, it has the lowest water absorption, heat resistance and strength. Relative to nylon 6 and 6,6, they both have much lower water absorption (and hence improved dimensional stability and electrical properties) and higher cost. They also have lower impact resistance and somewhat better UV resistance.

Applications include precision engineering components and components that need low temperature toughness.
