This Magnesium Oxide ceramic is a fully fired, fine grained inert material exhibiting excellent resistance to attack by metals such as Sodium, Nickel based superalloys and Plutonium/Uranium systems, fluxes and superconductor compounds. It demonstrates good mechanical strength and operates well when uniformly heated or cooled and thermal shock is avoided. It offers superior performance to Alumina, being stable to 2200C. However, above this temperature creep occurs. Due to its resistance to Lead-based materials, it is used for piezoelectric materials processing.
